Visit Crowley Cheese
An American Original
Come watch Crowley Cheese being made by hand just as it was when Winfield Crowley began. Our landmark factory was built next to a small mountain brook in 1882 in the then-traditional post & beam fashion. Little has changed since then.
Learn About Cheesemaking
Cheesemaking by hand takes time -- almost all day, in fact. Our cheesemakers start first thing in the morning, and depending on when you arrive, you'll see a different part of the process.
Ski, Hike, Bike, Kayak
Only 4 hours from New York and 3 hours from Boston, we are located in beautiful (and accessible) southern Vermont, not far from the Okemo and Killington Ski Areas. We'll let you in on a big secret: as wonderful as Vermont is in the winter, it's equally gorgeous (and fun!) in the summer. Adjacent to Green Mountain National Forest, we are surrounded by great hiking trails, beautiful lakes, cycling routes from serene to challenging, and lovely picnicing sites. Visit Your Place in Vermont for details, and remember to stop by for picnic supplies before heading out!
